Gigs

Our CD, Hare of the Jug, has been available for a few months now, but we're finally taking time for a CD release show. That's coming right up at a new venue for us, the Hidden Cove in Chicago.

And later this month, many of us will travel to Memphis to dedicate the gravestone for jug band pioneer Will Shade. This is the result of the benefit concert we organized last January. While we're there, we plan to do some busking on Beale Street, 1920's style, and try to locate the gravesites of a few more of our jug band heroes.

The Hump Night Thumpers took their name from their weekly practice time: Wednesday night, or "hump night."

Random blues lyric

Instead of him staying at home
Leaving those white folks' business alone
He's in the jailhouse now
